Margaret Camrose Singer,91, died October 15, 2011 in Greeley, Colorado. She was born March 2, 1920 to George and Margaret Camrose Williams in Cardiff, Wales, UK. She was educated in Wales and England. Mrs. Singer served in the Women’s Royal Naval Service during the years of World War II.
She married Robert O. Singer on January 1, 1944. After the war she immigrated to the United States with her husband and lived in New York City. After moving to Denver for a year, she and Robert came to Greeley in 1948. She returned to Cardiff, Wales during her father’s term as Lord Mayor of the City, where she served as Mayoress.
Mrs. Singer traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. She also enjoyed working for a time at the University of Northern Colorado and contributing as a volunteer in many different capacities.
Mrs. Singer was dearly loved by family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Singer survived by her husband Robert O. Singer and her daughter Susan Camrose Ducote as well as nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews in Wales and England. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Camrose Evans, and two brothers Jack Camrose Williams and Fred Camrose Williams.
Memorial service and reception will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Unitarian Universalist Church of Greeley, CO, 929 15th St. Inquiries should be directed to tel. number 970-351-6751.
