Mabel G. Tapia

Mabel lived her entire life in Gilcrest, graduating from Valley High School in 1972. She was a Headstart teacher for 34 years and also worked as the schools Center Director.

She attended Sacred Heart Church in Gilcrest and later attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley.

Mabel enjoyed going to the movies, Blackhawk, shopping, spending time and playing games with her grandchildren, and spending time with her family. Family was most important to her.

She is survived by her sons, Miguel (Brandi) Corral and Damian (Jessica) Tapia; daughter Rebecca Tapia; brothers John Chacon, Antonio (Blanca) Chacon, Ruben (Virginia) Chacon and Rudy (Rosie) Chacon; sisters Dora Alvidrez, Marylou Garcia and Helen Olivas; brother-in-law Francisco Regalado; grandchildren Sutton Corral and Carson Corral, Skylar Tapia, Jayden Tapia, Abriella Jurado, and Mallorie Salazar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Rebecca Regalado; brother Tony “Herbie” Villegas (Bobbie); step father Padrino Fernandez; grandson Giovanni Angel; sister-in-law Mary Chacon; brothers-in-law Carlos Alvidrez, Lionel Garia and Stan Olivias.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 starting at 6:00 P.M. at Allnutt Funeral Service Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley. Mass will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greeley.
