Lory Merriman

Loraine “Lory” Merriman, 63 of Greeley, passed away at UC Health in Greeley on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Lory was born December 31, 1957 in Denver to George and Barbara (Dawson) Pierce. She married Randy Merriman on July 5, 1980 in Denver.

Lory grew up in Denver and moved to Greeley in 1988. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to earn her Bachelors degree from UNC, graduating in 1995. She worked as a draftsmen, dog groomer, technical writer, and baby sitter. However, her passion was in writing. She had been writing fanfiction for several years, and had published more than 15 different stories.

Lory was a quilter, loved animals, her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Randy; her sons Steven (Sarah) Merriman, Daniel (Cassie) Merriman and Christopher Merriman; daughter Barbara Brooks; sister Deborah (Michael) Cohig; grandchildren Austin Merriman, Elizabeth and Kaylen Merriman, Sean Brooks, and Alice Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Kathy Pierce.

Services will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
