Born on February 12, 1955 in Sterling, Colorado to James Joseph Rewerts and Alice Ruth (Beede) Rewerts. She lived in Sterling with her three brothers, Ronald "Ron" LaVern Rewerts (May 9, 1949), Robert Allen Rewerts (September 9, 1950), Gary Lynn Rewerts (June 1, 1952), along with her grandparents, many aunts and uncles and cousins until moving to Evans, Colorado in September 1960. While in Evans, her youngest brother, Kenneth "Ken" James Rewerts (September 30, 1963) was born.
While living in Evans she attended John Evans Junior High and Greeley West High School. Linda enjoyed singing with her high school Spartan's choir and playing the piano until she graduated May 1973. While in high school she met the love of her life, Randall "Randy" D. Meyer on a corner going around Dizzy "D" Block on a spring evening. Her car had stalled and she pulled alongside of Randy's car and just sat hoping that the car would start. As fortune would have it, it didn't and Randy took her to a phone to call her parents for help. After that they dated until they were married on June 22, 1974.
After high school Linda worked in bookkeeping with companies in Greeley and when Randy entered the US Navy they moved to California. While stationed at Naval Air Station Moffett Field, Christopher James Meyer (August 18, 1980) was born at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Later while stationed at NAS Miramar, Robert Edward Meyer (June 4, 1983) was born at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. Linda followed Randy for 9-1/2 years moving up and down the coast of California until transferring to Waterloo, Iowa. They lived there for 5 years, where she raised her two boys and worked part-time and then later earned her Insurance and Securities licenses and became a Reginal Vice President with AL Williams. They lived in Waverly, Iowa until Randy was diagnosed with cancer and after surgery, they moved back to Denver, Colorado, where he could be closer to a major military hospital, in December 1990.
While living in Denver, Linda started in home child care, which she enjoyed working with the children and teaching pre-K. After Randy was discharged from the Navy in 1993, Linda started working with Cherry Creek School District as a Special Ed Teacher's Aide. That's where she found her calling and she entered the University of Northern Colorado Teaching program and received her bachelors in Teaching in June 2001 and later her Masters in Special Education in 2002. Linda truly loved teaching her students with disabilities and watching them grow and move on to their next level of education. While with Cherry Creek she started many new and challenging programs that were adopted by the district and were embraced by the parents and other districts in the Denver area. Linda worked at Peekview Elementary, Thunder Ridge Middle School, and Canyon Creek Elementary until she retired in May 2015.
After retiring she drove from Denver to Evans four to five times a week to take care of her ailing parents in Evans and waiting for Randy to retire as well. Finally in June 2016 they moved back to Greeley to be closer to Linda's parents where she continued to take care of them until they both passed in 2018. After that she drove seniors to and from medical appointments and loved talking with the seniors and doing whatever she could to help them out.
Linda was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America. She started as a Den Leader with the Cub Scouts for both Chris and Robert and later as committee member with their local Boy Scouts Troop where she became a Denver Area Council Centennial District Commissioner. While in scouting she was inducted into the Order of the Arrow at the Brotherhood level and received her Woodbadge beads.
Linda enjoyed collecting Teddy Bears, Angels and Boyds Bears. She would spend hours going through flea markets and thrift shops looking for her treasures. She was extremely grateful that she was able to reconnect with her high school friend and go together looking for treasures.
Linda enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping (tent but later campers). In June 2017, Linda and Randy went on their first cruise to Alaska. She so enjoyed the seven day cruise following the Inland Passage to Alaska and later the 5 day trip to Denali National Park. She so enjoyed the cruise that she and both boys along with their families did a seven day Disney Cruise in the Caribbean in December 2018. Her lifelong dream was to visit Hawaii so when Randy decided to retire April 2020 she booked a 14 day cruise to Hawaii and back. Unfortunately it was cancelled due to COVID and Linda was diagnosed with cancer.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ken and is survived by her husband, Randall "Randy" D. Meyer of Greeley, children, Christopher "Chris" J. Meyer (Sherry) of Greeley and Robert "Rob" E. Meyer (Elizabeth) of Aurora, 4 grandchildren, Neriah Meyer, Vitanni "Tanni" Cochrane, Katellini "Katie" Cochrane and Dmitryi Lynch-Meyer, 3 brothers, Ronald "Ron" Rewerts (Linda) of Barstow, California, Robert Rewerts of Colorado Springs and Gary Rewerts (Deborah) of Denver.
