Larraine Lavina Ritz, 93, of Greeley, passed away June 14, 2016 at Life Care Center of Greeley. Larraine was born August 20, 1922 to Carl and Julia (Ballheim) Andersen in David City, Nebraska. She was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Larraine attended Kansas State University where she received her Teaching Certificate. She met Elmer “Jack” Ritz and in 1966 they were married. He passed away on February 23, 2012. They owned and operated Ritz Sundry Service before retiring in 2009. Larraine was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church. She worked on the Ladies Aid at St. Paul’s and also served many years as their vice president. Her proudest moments were when her son Jerry received a 4 years scholarship for honor scores and when he joined the United States Navy.
She enjoyed Quilting and Crocheting. She was a singer with the Prime Time singer group. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the 600 club.
Larraine is survived by her son Jerry and wife Bonnie Barnaby of Greeley; grandsons Jay Barnaby and David Achziger; six great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack two brothers Gerald Anderson and Roy Anderson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
