Kirk Douglas Hunter, 65, passed away August 18, 2017 at his home in Bellvue, Colorado. He was born in Englewood, Colorado April 6, 1952. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Denver and studied philosophy at Colorado State University. He worked at Safeway for 38 years, where he lifted people up daily with his sense of humor and unending repertoire of jokes and good will. He had a huge heart and was generous and kind to family, friends and strangers alike. His sharp and ornery wit entertained an enormous number of people where ever he went. He was an honest and honorable man, resourceful and hard-working. He had a strong faith in the Lord and was passionate about music and the outdoors. He loved animals and enjoyed feeding his birds. He enjoyed his man cave and spending time there with his friends. He was the loving father of Bailey and Luke and was married 40 years to Susan, the love of his life. He is survived by wife Susan, son Luke, mother Joanne, brothers Dick and Terry, granddaughter Mirabella. He will always be cherished by numerous friends and sorely missed. He is with Bailey now and is at peace with Jesus.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday August 26th at 10 am, at the Drake Center in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his granddaughter Mirabella’s college fund at First National Bank, routing # 107000262, account number 38074101 or through the Allnutt Funeral Service.
