He went to elementary school and middle school in Platteville, and he attended Valley High School in Gilcrest, where he lettered in band and was a member of the Valley High Jazz Band playing alto, tenor and baritone sax.
He worked for the Kottage Kitchen for several years while he was in school and a short time after. He started working for Colorado Dairy Farm and began his journey in firefighting with the Platteville Fire Department. He remained in the agricultural industry for many years while continuing his firefighting journey at Kersey, Hudson, and Amherst fire, where he served as fire chief and EMT.
He enjoyed driving truck over the road hauling live cattle and boxed beef. He finished his trucking career moving drilling rigs for the oil field and spreading manure in the agricultural field.
He loved classic cars and going to car shows, which lead him to making videos he called “Kool Rides”.
He is survived by his father, Richard Gibson, mother, Margaret Lopez, stepmother, and daughter, Kailey. He had one brother, Kevin Gibson, two stepbrothers, six stepsisters and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
His grandparents and his stepfather precede him in death.
He will live forever in our hearts and prayers. We will be remembering him on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Platteville, Colorado. There will be a viewing one hour before and graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, Colorado.
