Judy was raised in Moravia, Iowa and was a 1962 graduate of Moravia High School. She married Carson Mericle on August 8, 1964 and the couple relocated to Colorado a few years after they tied the knot. Carson and Judy had two children, Kelle and Brett. Judy was employed at the Eaton Bank from 1969 to 1990. She was employed by the Eaton School District for about 5 years. She then went on to become the Librarian for the children's program at the Eaton Public Library until her retirement.
Judy had a lifelong passion for reading, gardening and restoring antique furniture. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and community.
She is survived by her husband, Carson, daughter, Kelle Mericle, son Brett (Shannon) Mericle, brothers, George and Dave Van Dorin, half-sister, Marsha Mitchell and three grandchildren, Reece Weigel, Carson Mericle and Judilynn Mericle, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, twin infant brothers, Raymond and Richard, stepfather, LeRoy Seward and sister-in-laws, Melanie Van Dorin and Terri Van Dorin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
