Judith Schiffer was born the daughter of Isaac Fife and Violet (Carlson) in Denver, Colorado. She was raised an Air Force “brat”, which afforded her the opportunity to attend schools in many states throughout the United States, including Colorado, Alaska, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas and
California. She graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduation, she began working and enrolled in night college courses.
In the Christmas season of 1967, she married Robert Schiffer. The couple later divorced. Judi had a 25 year career with AAFES (Army/Air Force Exchange System) retiring as an area executive assistant.
In 2001, Judi moved to Greeley, Colorado and began working at Anheiser Busch where she remained for 5 years. She then worked at AIMS Community College and later at the National Chiropractic Board of Examiners (NCBE).
Judi was an accomplished artist. She started young simply drawing any chance she had. She developed her skills using all types of mediums including pencil, chalk, and oils but enjoyed acrylics the most. Judi
enjoyed all genres of crafting and did not limit herself to any one type as her creativity allowed her to enjoy almost most anything. For many years she was a major contributor to the Christmas in Windsor Craft Show. She loved creating gifts for her all her friends and family, especially her great nieces and nephews, making each one thoughtfully and with love. Judi’s love for cats was evident, as she was a cat mom her entire adult life. She was a thorough genealogist and researched both sides of her maternal and paternal ancestry. Her research led her to discover that her ancestry included relatives who served in the Revolutionary War. This ancestry made it possible for her to become a proud member of the Greeley chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. (DAR) where she most recently proudly held the position of Flag Chair.
Most importantly, Judi was a devout Christian and her faith was woven into every aspect of her life. She spend many hours teaching children in Sunday school and providing volunteer service across her lifetime.
Judi will be sorely missed by her sister, Michele (Harlan) Johnston; nephews, Clint Johnston, Lucas (Brandy) Johnston and Adam (Ashley) Johnston and great-nieces and nephews, Marissa, Bayley, Morgan, Julie, Paeton, Zayden, Marshall, Layla and one on the way to be named Eli. She
was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials in Judi's name are suggested to benefit the Centennial State Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution in care of Ginell Stroh, 1430 Mallard Drive, Johnstown, Colorado 80534.
Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
