Joyce Elaine Jacob Johnson was born November 3, 1934 in Alva, Oklahoma to Louise Fees Jacob and Albert Ralph Jacob. Her sisters are Jane Hildebrandt (Paul) Frederick, M.D., and the late Joan (Bob) McCasland, of Canyon, Texas.
On August 23, 1953 she married John Lowell "Bud" Johnson. They have three daughters, Kathryn Johnson, Joy (Chris) Hoecher, and Jill Johnson, and one son, Douglas (Amy) Johnson. Their four grandchildren are: Alexis Hoecher, Colter Johnson, Elise Johnson and John Hoecher.
Joyce received her education from Colorado State University and The University of Northern Colorado where she received her Masters Degree in 1974. She was a Nutrition Educator for the Weld County's Senior Nutrition Program and The Headstart Program for 28 years. She was a Substitute Teacher for School District 6 Schools.
Joyce was a member for the First Christian Church, the Greeley Order of Eastern Star, Beauceant, Denver, National Home Economist, Nutrition Boards, and The Kappa Delta Sorority. Working with her children, she was leader of 4-H Club, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire Girls and was active with her children's Trail Dusters and horses. She loved being with her children.
