John Lee Lopez passed away on May 23, 2014 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver. He is now resting and awaiting that great day to be resurrected. He was born on August 17, 1968 to John and Ramona (Gonzales) Lopez in Greeley.
John attended Greeley Catholic School, Platte Valley schools and graduated from Greeley Central High School. John enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He saw duty at Camp Pendleton, California, where he worked as an ER Medic and worked closely with the Navy SEALS as well as the Fleet Marine Force. John was a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
John enjoyed wood carving, reading and collecting old model sail ships. He was most happy spending time with his daughter, Xoie Lopez, who he often said was his greatest and proudest achievement.
He will be missed by all who knew him and his kind and giving ways as he left us much too soon.
John is survived by his parents, John and Ramona Lopez; daughter, Xoie Lopez; niece, Cassandra Jean Lopez; brother, Tommy (Rosario) Lopez; uncle, Eddie Gonzales; step-son, Max Rodriguez and other loving family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Eugenia Gonzales.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon Saturday, May 31, 2014 followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon both at Stoddard Funeral Home.
