Joanne is survived by her 3 loving children, Starla Knaub, Rob (Kathy) Knaub, and Jill (Rusty) Dunning; her 8 grandchildren, Mick (Jamie) Madsen, Trista (Arturo) Macias, Heidi (Dave) Schleupner, Dustin (Brooke) Dunning, Collin (Natalie) Knaub, Chad Dunning, Gentry Knaub, and Bailey Knaub; her 14 great grandchildren, Arturo (Kelly) Macias Jr, Sabrina (Spencer) Davis, Victoria Macias, Elena Macias, Morgan Madsen, Ben Madsen, Chase Dunning, Carter Dunning, Cooper Dunning, Eve Knaub, Elsie Schleupner, Myla Schleupner, and Rusty Lee Dunning, 3 great-great grandchildren, Grayson Davis, Jordan Davis, and Olivia Macias; her sister-in-laws, Marge (Leroy) Rady, and Jan Knaub; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joanne and her twin Jeanne were born to Theron and Hazel McKenney on Oct. 22, 1930, in their childhood home in LaSalle, Colorado. She married the love of her life, Ben Knaub on June 11, 1950. They celebrated over 69 years of marriage together before Ben's passing on September 2, 2019. Joanne will be remembered as a loving wife, strong and generous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Family was the most important thing to her. Her spirit will live forever in all of our hearts. Family will be the legacy that follows Joanne.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Knaub; parents, Theron and Hazel McKenney; brothers, Barton McKenney and Theron “Bud” McKenney; sisters, Marylin (Maynard) Ludwig, Nadine McKenney, and Twin Jeanne McKenney.
There will be a Graveside Celebration of Joanne's Life for family at the Evans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local food bank.
