Gene, you lost your wife, Lindsey lost her mother and I lost a sister. Time helps, but life isn't quite the same.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joan's family, I was shocked to hear from Bonnie Platt of her passing.  I have good memories of Joan and worked with her at Mountain Bell, but we lost  track of each other later on.  Diann Reichert-Cooper, Westminster, CO

I am sorry for your loss.  I met Joani when she would walk the halls of Central while ditching classes at West.  When we were both at Mtn Bell we would laugh,get in trouble, and keep on laughing.  She always had smiles for everyone.  My best memory is the night she called when she was in labor with Lindsey and didn't know what to expect.  I still have the picture of Lindsey and Ian on a blanket when they were little-their first date.  I will miss her a great deal. I knew Joan through her brother.  I am so sorry that she will no longer be in the lives of those who loved her on a daily basis.  But, as long as they cherish her memories, she will never be truly gone from them.  Love and condolences to the family.

Joan, 

You have been in my life for 59 years. Like all relationships ours ebbed and flowed.  Whenever we talked, I always felt uplifted and you brought a smile to my face. Remembering times past, we would laugh about childhood incidents.Sometimes our individual memories of the same event made us wonder that we had both been there because they  were so different.  Of course, that only made us laugh more!  I am going to feel a big hole in my life without you. 

You leave a daughter who has a good head on her shoulders and is doing well in her business.  You should be proud! Your husband and Lindsey will be great sources of strength to each other, and will be a living tribute to you.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them-that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
 
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

I am so glad to have had you as a sister and to have shared in your life.

My Mom was friends with Joan Since High School and I remember stopping to chat every time we would run into Joan and Lindsey in the stores. That was how i came to know Lindsey and I am grateful for the opportunity to know Joan and for her introducing me to Lindsey. People come in and out of our lives it's up to us who we choose to keep. Joan was like a mom to me. I lived next door to her for many years and is a very good friend to Lindsey. I know she is happy in heaven now with her mom and dad but i miss her so much. I remember the times Joan, Gene and Lindsey would take me out to dinner with them and we would go cruise around town and see the Christmas lights in the winter. Sometimes i felt like apart of their family. I will always treasure my memories of all the fun times with the Ruppe family. Joan i love you and i will miss you so much.

I am so very sorry to hear of Joan's passing.  We worked together at Ma Bell for many years she was always such a fun person to be around.  We kinda lost tract of each other when the office closed in Greeley.  I got my cosmetology license and there was Joan and Lindsy to get a hair cut.  She was still the beautiful and joyful person I had remembered.  Then I moved to Texas and again we lost track of each other.  She was such a great person, my heart goes out to her family,  Keep her memories alive and in your heart forever.

May you soon find joy and comfort in the memories of many wonderful years shared as a family.
