Janice was born in Gothenburg, Nebraska on January 11, 1944 to Christian Kronberg (C.K.) Kjar and Dorathy Mae Kjar. Janice has resided in Fort Collins for 50 years. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1962 and attended 2 years at Kearney State College. On August 23, 1964 she married Jack Peck in Axtell, Nebraska. Janice worked most her adult life as a dental assistant and office manager ending with 25 years with Dr. Stephen Cameron in Ft. Collins. She was also a business owner of Campus West Bikes and Tennis Togs. She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She liked playing games, hiking, going to movies and laughing with them. She was an athlete and played tennis for many years winning several tournaments. Her love of sports included regularly attending CSU games including football, basketball, and volley ball with her husband and friends. She enjoyed time with her dear friends talking, praying, and laughing. She loved the Lord and was an active member of her church and loved going on mission trips and supported many missionaries financially. She took in foster children for several years as well as adults who hit hard times and needed a soft place to land. Her kindness, mercy, and joy showed through and those who knew her were blessed.
Janice is survived by her husband Jack Peck, daughters Jodi Nelson (Conrad), and Jennifer Brown (Gregory), brother Ray Kjar (Sandi), sister Arlene Unruh (Bob), and grandchildren Gregory Brown II, Jacklyn Nelson, Robbie Nelson, Hannah Nelson, Natalie Brown, and Jack Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents CK Kjar and Dorothy Kjar, and brother Dennis Kjar.
A visitation will be held at Allnutt Funeral Service in Fort Collins on Wednesday February 15, 2017 from 5-7 PM, followed by a memorial service at Timberline Church on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
