Jan loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, card games. She was an avid reader! Enjoyed going to Cripple Creek to play the slot machines. She did hit a few jackpots. She was a great cook, she classified herself as a “dump” cook. Dump a little of this…dump a little of that… and it was amazing! Jan and Harry owned several businesses throughout their 49 years of marriage. Style Corral, Deluxe Wash O’ Mat and Timberline Motel. After selling the motel they retired to Lake George CO.
Jan was small but mighty! She called it like she saw it! And would go toe to toe with even the biggest of people who were picking on someone she cared about! She was a great student, and very straight laced…. But….. she had a rebellious side and did a few “crazy” things like take her cousins ice skating and for a cruise around “D” block. Both done after instructed not to! Also was caught by her Dad smoking with a friend out behind the barn. Our house was the place where all the friends gathered. Jan “adopted” many of them as her own. She correspond with many of them when they went to the service, college or just out on their own. Many have just stopped by when passing through town. I am hoping more people will share their stories with us. She will be missed by many.
