They had three children, two of whom were born before the family set sail to America on the Queen Elizabeth in 1957. They chose Greeley as their home. Mrs. Gentle operated her own drapery business before Mr. and Mrs. Gentle retired in Texas in the 90’s. She made the best trifle, giggled like a schoolgirl and loved a good cup of tea.
Mrs. Gentle died March 5, 2019 at Greeley’s North Colorado Medical Center.
Mrs. Gentle is survived by a son, Gary Gentle, and wife Karen of Greeley; a daughter, Jackie Weimer, and husband Tim of The Villages, FL.; a daughter-in-law, Connie Gentle of Greeley; a sister, Joyce Lusby, and three brothers, Jack, Derrick and Brian Dilley, all of England; six grandchildren, Chris Gentle of Windsor, Kurt Weimer of Greeley, Amy (Weimer) Speer of Greeley, Greg Gentle of Las Cruces, N.M., Kara (Gentle) Martin of Dallas, Texas, and Rebecca Gentle of Denver; and eight great-grandchildren (with another on the way).
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and a son, Paul Gentle.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 with location to be provided during the Celebration of Life.
