James attended school in Sterling Nebraska, then after High School he enlisted in the US Navy, and served two years. After returning home he married Ruth Elaine (Eilers) Nealy on June 24, 1949.
He took a job at O’Shea-Rogers Ford Tractor Dealership and worked a few other jobs until 1959, when he decided to move to Greeley, Colorado to partner with his brother Edwin, in the trucking business. After several years the partnership was dissolved and Jim continued in the trucking business until 1996 when he retired. After that his son Scot continued to operate the family business. Jim and Ruth traveled extensively throughout the US after his retirement enjoying life.
James is survived by his wife, Ruth Elaine Nealy of 72 years together, and his son Steven (Colleen) Nealy, son Scot (Donice) Nealy. He is also survived by a granddaughter Jerica, and two great granddaughters RyLynn and Loryssa.
He is proceeded in death by his one sister Ruth, four brothers, Chubb, Ed, Bill, and Ralph, and his parents.
James was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church here in Greeley Colorado. He was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor and the ability to fix anything. He was the most amazing, hardworking and caring man whose blue eyes and smile could light up a room and will be missed tremendously by his family and friends.
A special thanks to all the staff at Grace Pointe Continuing Care Sr. Campus ALF in Greeley Colorado who cared and assisted Jim to enjoy his final years with us.
Interment will be a private family ceremony at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Greeley, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado Cardiology Clinic in memory of James Nealy in care of Allnutt Macy Chapel.
