Jack was a very outgoing, fun-loving young man who never met a stranger. His quick wit and orneriness were legendary among his friends and family. Jack graduated from Valley High School in 2018. He was an extremely enthusiastic member of the Valley FFA chapter and was the recipient of many awards. He attended NJC before returning to the family farm where he worked until his passing. Jack was passionate about raising cattle, riding horses, spending time with friends, and helping others with farm and ranch work.
Jack is survived by his father, John Dickie, step-mother, Marci (Gourley) Dickie, brothers, Craig, Cody, Ethan, and sister, Everly of LaSalle; grandparents William “Bill” and Shirley Shable of LaSalle, and Pat and LuAnn Gourley of Lafayette; uncles Brian Shable of LaSalle, and Justin Gourley of Lafayette; aunts Lynn Dickie of El Paso, TX, and Barbara (husband Bob) Johnson of San Jose, CA as well as several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kerri Dickie; his grandparents Dr. Charles and Marjorie Dickie.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, April 27th, from 4-8pm at Allnut-Macy Chapel. Jack’s celebration of life will be held at Allnut-Macy Chapel on Friday, April 28th, at 10am with a reception to follow.
Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery.
