Inez M. Larson, 105, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at her home where she has resided for 75 years.
She was born in Farmer’s Spur, CO to John Everman Self and Jessie Pearl (Ray) Self who was a farmer at Farmers Spur until the end of his life.
Inez attended La Grange Elementary and Greeley Central High School.
She married Evert V. Larson July 2, 1932. They started their farming career in the Delta school area and moved to the Gill area in 1944 and had farmed and lived there ever since.
She had two children, Phyllis A. (LeRoy) Johnson and Jack (Ila Mae) Larson. She had nine grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and twenty four great-great-grandchildren.
She was very active in Swedish Heritage, Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Group, and the Kersey Senior Center.
Inez was a kind and loving person, always positive and always had a good joke.
She weighed Sugar Beets at the Gill Beet dump for twenty five years. She worked at Myrna’s Flower Shop arranging flowers. She designed and arranged the flowers for the majority of her grandchildren’s weddings.
She had a special God given talent for arranging and growing flowers, especially sweet peas.
She will be missed by her many family members and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Johnson and son Jack (Ila Mae) Larson, nine grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and twenty four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, four sisters, one brother, son-in-law, Harold LeRoy Johnson, many close friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 8, 2019, 9:00-10:00 A. M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, followed by the Funeral service at 10:00 A.M., Immanuel Lutheran Church 1865 14th Ave. Greeley, CO. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens June 8, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.
