Grandy was a very special lady and getting a hug and kiss from her when we visited made all of our days.  She always had a smile and a sweet laugh.  She was sharp as a tack and we loved to hear her stories.  Our son Sam is one of her great-great grandsons and he misses her very much.  We all looked forward to our visits with Hattie and Sam loved to ""escort"" her around the home - up and down the elevator.  She was so proud of her family and we feel blessed that she considered us part of that family.  She treated our daughter Haley like a grandchild as well and loved to show off the kids to her lunch ladies.  She will be missed by all who knew her but we all know she is looking down on us with her sweet smile and still rooting on her beloved Cubs!

My thoughts are with you upon hearing of Mrs.Wells passing.  I don't know if you remember meeting me several years ago in church, I am your cousin Howard Wells' daughter. I fondly remember getting a hug from Aunt Hattie at Meadowlark Church of Christ as the preacher asked everyone to ""greet their churchpew neighbor."" I had moved to Colorado from Illinois and didn't even know I had a great aunt living in Fort Collins, and there we were sitting next to each other in church...a lovely memory.
