He was married to Louise May Gesick on March 10, 1943 until her death on January 10, 1982. He then married Betty Burton on April 27, 1982.
He was raised in Greeley and attended school in Weld County. After his marriage to Louise in 1943, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. After his enlistment, he and Louise moved to Boulder for a short period before relocating to San Jose, California in 1953 where he was a meat market manager at a major grocery store. In 1961, they moved to Colorado Springs where he was meat market manager at Rustic Hills Safeway. He then opened a small appliance repair store in the Rustic Hills shopping center until his retirement. He was also active in the Curtner Ave Church of Christ in San Jose, California and in the East Side Church of Christ in Colorado Springs.
Harry enjoyed traveling, cooking, repairing things that were very difficult, reading his bible, watching old movies and telling a good joke. He will be greatly missed by all his family and all of his caregivers at Fairacres Manor and Senior Helpers.
Harry is survived by his wife, Betty Dumler, of Colorado Springs, daughter Ilene (Bob) Stricker, Step daughters, Diane (Kevin) Collins, of Englewood, Barbara (Reb) Bennett of Colorado Springs, Donna (Dave) Gissel of Colorado Springs, granddaughters, Carrie (Bill) Walker, Janine (Jon) Moore, Michelle (Kyle) Komanich, all of Greeley, five great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, one great granddaughter, 7 great step grandchildren and other nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Dumler, sister, Elma Ley, his first wife, Louise May Gesick, step-sons Bob and James Burton.
A Celebration of life will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Interment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
