I was saddened to read of Gretchen's passing in the current Alpha Phi Quarterly.  I was a freshman at Eaton High School when Gretchen was a senior.  Our families were friends, and I always admired Gretchen. I only saw Gretchen in the 70's when I visited in Eaton.    I enjoyed viewing her photo gallery and recognizing her mother and father in several pictures.

Gretchen lived across the street from my family home growing up on Stacy Drive in Westminster.  We were so lucky to have the Larson's as neighbors. Gretchen always had time for the neighborhood kids and was always there to listen and give advice. I enjoyed playing with Tammy, Dana and Margo and will always remember Grertchen's sense of humor and outlook on life. 
She was a excellent role model for any girl growing up and left a positive imprint on my heart. My love to Harv and the family.

I taught with Gretchen at Fairview Elementary.  I remember her as a classy and very professional lady. She treated students, parents and colleagues with the utmost respect. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time. Candy Berkenkotter

I am saddened to hear of Gretchen's passing.  We taught together at both Fairview and Tennyson Knolls Elementary Schools in District 50.  Not only was she an excellent teacher in the classroom, but a great asset to our Outdoor Education program.  She was a great friend, and always a lady.

Although I didn't get to know Gretchen until  later in her life, I saw the joy and love that glowed from her heart through her eyes to all who were lucky to have crossed her path.  After looking at all the pictures, oh what a wonderful path she paved in the years she walked this earth.  She will be dearly missed .  My deepest sympathy to Harv and her family.

I'm very sad to hear that Mrs. Larson has passed.  It's been over twenty something years since I've known Mrs. Larson from Tennyson knoll elementary school.  I'm surprised that I still remember Mrs. Larson but who could forget such a wonderful teacher who is so kind, loving, and caring.  Mrs. Larson is one of the best teacher I've had growing up and she will never be forgotten.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Mrs. Larson was a wonderful teacher at Tennyson Knolls Elementary. She was the most memorable teacher I know.  She is kind, caring, and loved to teach. She made such a difference in my life, without her caring and her love of teaching, I would not be where I'm at today. She holds a very special place in my heart and always will.  Over the summer I actually thought about trying to reach her but didn't know how because the phone number she gave me years ago no longer belonged to her. I just wanted to reach her to tell her much I appreciated her and what a difference she's made in my life and to tell her "Thank You" for caring and teaching me because you've have made a difference in my life. Even though I did not have the chance to see you in person to tell you how much I appreciated you, I hope one day to get in touch with your family so I can share all the wonderful memories I have of you.  My thoughts are prayers are with you and your family.
