Gary Ellis Dolan

Gary E. Dolan, 73 of Greeley, passed away October 26, 2017 at his home. Gary was born June 12, 1944 in Laramie, WY to James and Mary (Hoel) Dolan. He married Alma Jean Deshaw on October 3, 1964. She passed away in July of 2013.

Gary grew in Wyoming, graduating from high school in 1961 and earning is Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wyoming. He lived in Topeka, KS for 20 years and moved to Colorado in 1991.

Gary worked in many position in Wyoming and Kansas – the State School in Lander, WY, Recreation Center in Laramie, KNI in Topeka, KS, the Topeka State Hospital and Farmers Insurance in Topeka. But, after moving to Colorado he worked at the Colorado Department of Corrections for 19 years before retiring as a Lieutenant in May of 2010.

Gary enjoyed golf, rock carving, UFO’s and the paranormal. He loved spending time with family and grandchildren, barbequing, time at his cabin in the mountains, watching football (Broncos), video games and his dog Thor.

He is survived by his sons, Pivot and Dart Dolan; sister, Deeana Scott; grandchildren Malachai, Patsy, and Brandon Dolan, Lakota Kramer, Heather Stewart, Jessica, Jason and Jonathan Lindley; great-grandchildren, Raylea, Malorie, and Jaylie Dolan and Demi Kramer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mike Dolan.
