To the Russell Family,
Frank was a humble man and that allowed him to do more than the average cop.  When I was a detective, I asked for help from the Drug Task Force and Frank agreed to help me.  He shared  his knowledge with me about technical audio equipment, surveillance and how to handle C.I.s.  He was instrumental in getting a C.S.U. Police Officer assigned to the Drug Task Force after our case involvement.  He could always be counted on for help and just to lend an ear.  May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in a lifetime of memories that he left behind for you. God Bless.

I knew Frank when he was still with the Fort Collins Police Department and later as a private investigator. He was a down to earth professional who will be missed by family and friends. I enjoyed working with Frank and whenever we got together the stories, and the good and bad times we encountered in our careers made us both laugh and shake our heads. He was good man, completed his tour and finished his watch with honor. God speed Frank.

Russell Family,

Your dad was always treated me well and as an equal.  Pretty ahead of his time when it came to women working in law enforcement.  He helped me with so many of my cases when I was a new detective. He was always supportive and offered help when others didn't.  He was the keeper of all the electronics in the detective bureau and we could always be certain the equipment would work because of Frank.  He loved being involved in the cases and might have grumbled about being called out in the middle of the night but he always came and loved getting in the middle of the cases.  I could always go to Frank and he would help.  He was proud of his children and grandchildren and very protective of his family.  He and your mom always made me laugh because they would grumble at each other but they were always smiling when they were doing it. Your mom was the only one that could get after your dad and he would just sit back and not say much.  He would smile and mutter to himself.    

He was a good friend, a good cop, a teacher and he loved ""the job"".

Rick and Deb, Frank was a good man and was fun to work cases with.  The challenge of moving forward seems difficult. Let’s remember Frank Russell who kept the spirit of freedom alive here in our homeland and worldwide.  Frank you were a dedicated American to our country and a devoted citizen to your community. To the Russell family and his many friends, may his memories give you peace and comfort.  May he rest in Peace. In God’s name we pray and may he receive our prayers especially for Frank Russell.

St Francis was a fighting soldier for Assisi. While going off to war in 1204, Francis had a vision that directed him back to Assisi, where he gave up being a solider and dedicated his life to God and his community.  This is my prayer for Frank.

From Minot AFB to Fort Collins, my family and yours have been connected over the years.  Frank was a good man, a good citizen, officer and detective…but most of all, a good friend.

Rick, I will be out of town when you have your dad's memorial service.  He helped me when I started in politics and I remember our times working the streets in Fort Collins.  He was a good man and a great friend.  I am sorry for your loss, and would attend his service if I was going to be in town.  My Prayers are with you and your family in this time of grief.

Frank was the cop who took me under his wing and helped me to grow from being a rookie to a real police officer.  He was my friend, partner, and mentor as a cop, a detective, and a technical investigator.  Frank was always there when I needed an ear, a friend, or a cup of coffee.

In recent years we've met for coffee several times and he was always cheerful and grumpy, grouching about things and laughing at the same time.  I'll miss his laugh!

I will miss him, and I want to thank the Russell family for sharing him with me and all of Larimer County.

So sorry to learn of Frank's death. He was an amazing person, husband, father, police officer and private investigator. Frank held 3 significant certifications from ASIS International, a feat few have accomplished. Always a professional! He will be missed!
