Frank Fumich of Greeley died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Sierra Vista Health Care Center in Loveland. He was born June 11, 1924 in Keewatin, Minnesota to Peter and Anna (Reprovich) Fumich.
Frank grew up in Ashland, Wisconsin, where he attended school. He joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 19, and served from 1944 to 1946. He was in the European Theater, and the South Pacific Theater, and was present at the invasion of Normandy. After his discharge he returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and sailed on the Great Lakes with a shipping company. He then started driving trucks, which he did for 40 years.
On June 10, 1972, he married Marion C. Tatreau in West Allis, Wisconsin. They moved to Greeley in 1987. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Frank enjoyed woodworking, making wine and fishing and traveling in their motor home.
He is survived by his wife Marion; special niece and nephew, Gloria Robinson (Ed) of Donna, Texas and Duane Torgenson (Liz) of Oswego, Illinois, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary (Torgenson) Jacobson.
Graveside inurnment 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
