His home was a farm outside of Elk Creek, Nebraska where he attended school. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1951. Eldon went into the Army in 1953 until being Honorably Discharged in 1961. He then received the National Defense Service medal and Marksmanship medal on November 23, 1961.
Eldon was united in marriage to Alberta "Bert" Standerford at Hastings, Nebraska. They made their home in Wood River, Nebraska until 1963 when they moved to Greeley, Colorado. Eldon was the Heavy Equipment Operator and worked for many people including Goodell Construction. Eldon retired in 1995. He enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends with Bert by his side.
Eldon was a loyal servant of our Lord Jesus for over 50 years. He and Bert have been members of West Greeley Baptist Church since 1969. On occasion, they would take a leave of absence to work with area churches, as God led them. After Bert went home to the Lord in 2017, Eldon moved to Humboldt, Nebraska to share the word of the Lord by putting articles in the paper to Humboldt with love.
Eldon loved people and people loved him. He wanted everyone to know the love of the Lord and that if you're not saved, that you put your trust in Jesus and let him direct your life. That way, Eldon can look forward to seeing you again in the presence of Jesus.
He did not fear death and on January 21, 2024, Eldon went to be with his savior and was reunited with Bert.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings: Ronald, Alice, Robert, and Jimmy.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Eldon will be greatly missed by many people.
