Eileen Fritzler, 87, of LaSalle, died December 11, 2012 at her home. Eileen was born November 27, 1925 in Sharon Springs, Kansas to Hugo and Myrtle (Robeson) Lenz. Eileen came to Denver after graduating High School and worked for Gates Rubber Company. She married Edward Fritzler on March 18, 1945 in Sharon Springs, Kansas. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eileen and Ed farmed together for over 65 years. They made their home on the family farm, south of LaSalle, for the past 57 years.
Eileen was active in the Methodist church in both Windsor and Platteville. She attended Greeley Wesleyan Church. She sold World Book Encyclopedias for over 30 years. She was very active in school functions of all kinds including sports, band and PTA.
Eileen has worked on many projects for her kids and grandkids, and also made afghans and quilts for each one of them as wedding gifts. She loved to cook and bake for her whole family especially German food. With the help of her daughter, Eileen enjoyed canning and freezing foods. She loved her flower gardens and also had a special gift for making family and friends feel loved.
Eileen is survived by her husband Ed, daughter Cheryl Mitchell (Don) of Greeley; sons Dean Fritzler (Gail) of Wray, Kenny Fritzler (Carol) of Vancouver, Washington, Steve Fritzler (Char) of Platteville and Glen Fritzler (Pam) of LaSalle; sister Frances Bolen of Thornton; brother George Lenz (Betty) of Wray; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kendra Fritzler, daughter of Kenny Fritzler and one brother Harold “Jack” Lenz .
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Friday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
A Celebration Of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, at Journey Christian Church, 2332 West 27th Street, Greeley.
