Doreen Straight

Doreen was born in Miles City, Mont., March 27, 1953, to Robert and Betty Hiers. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1972.

Doreen moved to Colorado in 1977. Doreen and Jay met in 1978 and were married on March 25, 1979.

They had two daughters, Mandy Marie (36) and Morgan Ashley (34).

Doreen is survived by her husband, Jay Straight; daughters, Mandy (fiancé, Jed) and Morgan (husband, Josh); grandchild, Mariah Rae (3) by Mandy; three siblings, Bob Hiers of Mont., Carol Bundy of Mont and Dona Johnson of Colo.

Doreen was passionate in her role working with Special Education students in several Elementary Schools during her 22-year career. After retirement, Doreen enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her granddaughter, sewing, gardening, attending women’s groups at her Church, Christ Community Church and vacationing in Maui.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Doreen and Jay’s home 1514 29th Ave. Ct., Greeley. Condolences can be sent to the same address or you may visit www.allnuttgreeley.com to send condolences to the family.
