Debra Lee Kimmel

Born in Madrid, Spain, she was a daughter of Elizabeth and the late Theodore Kimmel. Debra graduated from Bentonville High School (Arkansas) in 1975 and later (84-88) attended John Brown University where she studied Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

Debra was an Air Force veteran, serving 6 years active duty as an Aerospace Control & Warning Systems Operator. She enjoyed working in Broadcast Journalism for several years after her enlistment. She loved working with the elder community as a volunteer and later was the Activities Director for Heritage Park Senior Center in Rogers, Arkansas, Prosperity Oaks Senior Community in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Sunrise Senior Living at Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado. Debra served as the Publicity Chairman for the Benton County Arkansas American Heart Association from 1994-1995 and loved her volunteer work for various nonprofits. She was also actively involved with and supported Karis Community in Denver Colorado. Debra was a breast cancer survivor.

Surviving are her mother, sister Vickie (Rory) Miller of Greeley, brother Reynold, niece Stephanie (Joe), nephew Rory Jr. and seven grand nieces and one grand nephew.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by her brother Vincent.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Stoddard Funeral Home & Chapel. Inurnment TBD at a later date. Attendees are encouraged to share stories of their time with Debra, read poetry or bible passages.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Karis Community, Denver, CO in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th St., Greeley, CO 80634.

Into your arms, O God, we humbly entrust a loving daughter, sister, and friend. In this life, you embraced her with your tender love. Welcome her into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping, nor pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with Your Son and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
