David grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. He graduated from Alameda High School in 1965. In 1973 he started working at the Denver Water Board where he continued his career until his retirement in 2015. After retirement David and Waynette moved to Ault, Colorado to be out of the big city.
David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending every fall elk hunting in Gunnison, Colorado with his son, brother, nephew, and many different friends over the years. David and Waynette enjoyed traveling and exploring different places in Colorado and Wyoming.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Waynette Ross (Lenihan). They were married February 2, 1980 at Loyola Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. David is also survived by his two children, Brian Ross and Megan Ross; and grandson, Brantley (Goober).
There are also other numerous other family and friends whom loved him deeply including, brother, Rodney Ross and wife Cheryl; their son, Ryan Ross and wife Heather; and their two daughters, Remington and Sadie Ross. As well as Rodney and Cheryl's daughter, Monica Boone (Ross) and her husband Michael, and their two children, Lily and Adam Boone.
David is proceeded in death by both of his parents.

A Celebration of Life for David will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Windsong Estates Event Center, 2901 Saddler Blvd, Severance, Colorado 80524.
