Darrell was raised in Kansas with his four other siblings and when he was 7, they lost their father. After he finished school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. Darrell said his life started the day he came home on leave from the Army and met the love of his life, Clara. Their mothers lived up the street from each other the first time they met. Darrell and Clara were married on January 2, 1954, in Kearney, Nebraska. They spent 71 years of life together.
After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Darrell became an over-the-road truck driver, which he was very good at and absolutely loved to do. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to Grand Ole Opry, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams.
He will be missed dearly by his family. Darrell is survived by the love of his life and wife, Clara Roller; daughter, Laura Roller; one grandchild, Wendy (Doug) Pitts; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Pitts and Branden Pitts; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, LaVonne and Gerald Sapp; and one great niece, Kellie Sapp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary; daughters, Dixie Poland and Wanda Roller; son, Terry Roller; two brothers, Dean and Don Roller; and two sisters, Pauline and Iva.
