Carolyn Sue Rains

Carolyn Sue Rains, 74, of Greeley, passed away January 25, 2017 at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born January 5, 1943 in Riverside, California to Graydon and Esther (Grosskopf) Todd. Carolyn grew up in LaSalle where her family owned a farm. She attended school in LaSalle. She married Charlie Rains, Jr. in 1959. They later divorced.

Carolyn started Carol-Lynn’s Flowers in 1979 and retired in 2016. She was a member of Greeley Wesleyan Church.

She entered College at Colorado State College (UNC) during the mid-1960’s where she graduated with her Bachelor of Art in Home Economics. After graduating from college she became a fulltime homemaker.

Carolyn’s passions included floral work at Carol-Lynn’s, collecting antiques, traveling, singing with the choir at Greeley Wesleyan and cooking for her family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Sheri Huston (Mike) of Greeley; sons Dale Rains (Linda) of LaSalle, Todd Rains (Lana) of Lakeville, Minnesota; one brother Gary Todd (Bonnie) of LaSalle; 5 grandchildren Bryson Rains, Tiffany Wood (Andrew), Mikel Huston, Kyle Rains and Alexia Rains; 2 great grandchildren Hunter Wood and Kinslee Wood; and her companion Bob Anderson of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Julie Annette Todd.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Greeley Wesleyan Church with a reception to follow. Private family interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
