Carol Lou Whitmore

On September 1, 1951 Carol married Loren Gilbert Medford, who died August 19, 2005. They divorced in 2003. They had three children Pamela Jean Kelly (Robert) of Aurora, Jerry Lee Medford (Louise Farner) of Arvada and Lori Sue Housel (Thomas) of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina.

Carol attended Eaton High School where she was active in Pep Club, Girls Chorus, and Library Club. She also attended Aim Community College where she earned 85 hours of college credit.

Carol worked for Hewlett Packard as a Production Associate from 1979 until her retirement in October 1996 as a Gold Badge recipient.

Carol enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, quilt making with her daughters, and showing her quilts, painting and coloring her favorite birds. She loved to line dance with her sisters. She was an avid bowler and a member of a bowling league in Loveland, Colorado. She always loved fashion and looking nice. She was an avid supporter of the Denver Broncos and Tiger Woods.

Carol has five grandchildren, Chad David, Jeffrey Robert, Jerry Allen, Bryan Thomas, and Preston Travis and eight great grandchildren, Makaylah Laura Jean, Camila Rose, Lila Marie, Kinley Rae, Bryson Michael, Wyatt Thomas, Layla Rayne and Gwendolyn Presley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Calvin and Kenneth Whitmore and her sisters, Beverley Schott, Shirley Hyde and Judith Riggs. She has four surviving sisters, Dixie Rutherford of Eaton, Patricia Young of Eaton, Sharon McKay of Pierce and Linda Owens of Greeley.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eaton Cemetery at 11:00 on Friday, November 10, 2023 (Christensen Ave, Eaton, CO 80615). A Luncheon will follow at the Eaton Country Club -McCarty’s at 12:00.
