Before there was after, there was before. Gramma Brenda loved her grandkids. She loved their stories: big and small, their laughter, and their lives. She loved to teach them the tricks to the best fried egg sandwich and the yummiest cookies. She showed them strength and love.
Before she became Gramma Brenda she was mom. She was the biggest cheer in every crowd. She loved their curiosity and encouraged their orneriness. She shared her time and she taught them her crafts. She showed them fairness, bravery and compassion.
Before she was mom she was Brenda, the lady who married the guy under his mulberry tree. She loved his silliness, his smile, and his ingenuity. She loved the life she built with him and showed him loyalty and warmth.
Before she was a wife she was Brenda the daughter, sister, and friend. Throughout her life Brenda loved. She loved everyone and she loved big. She never knew a stranger and she had the best hug to help fix the worst problems. Brenda knew how to find a smile and share it. She loved her farm life. She loved to garden, preserve, cook, sew, paint, dance, and play. Brenda grew up in LaSalle, Colorado and graduated from Valley High School. She was a registered nurse at Banner Hospital in Greeley, Colorado. She went back to school after her kids were born.
Brenda was married to Mike for 41 years. Her children, Luke, Nicole, and Michelle, and grandchildren, Nature, Fey, Sage, Ruth, and Evie, as well as many honorary children, friends, and family are proud to have belonged to her. With faith, Brenda has rejoined her parents, Jack and Evelyn Slife, her brother, Brad, and sister, Beth, in Heaven. We are certain they are dancing.
A Memorial will be held at the farm on October 8, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of gifts, please bring a story to share.
