Beverly Beth Brewer

Mrs. Brewer was raised and educated, graduating from Elizabeth Union High School in 1942. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1946 with a major in English and a minor in Economics. Following graduation, she taught high school English in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. The following year she was a residence hall director at the University of Wyoming. She then worked in the Secretary-Treasurers office for the Denver Public Schools.

In 1949, she married Delmar E. Brewer at the City Park Baptist Church in Denver. After living in Washington, D.C. while her husband attended school they moved to Greeley, in 1950, where she lived until her death. Mrs. Brewer had one son, Delmar Carson Brewer of Greeley.

She taught English and Social Studies at Meeker Jr. High for seven years and graduated with a MA degree in Secondary Education from Colorado State College, now University of Northern Colorado.

During the years her son was growing up, she was office manager and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Service Master of Weld County. When her son left for college, she started a new career as a travel consultant, attaining her certified Travel Counselor designation. She served in this capacity until retiring in July 1993.

Beverly was the Past Treasurer for AAUW, Past President of the Women’s Panhellenic Association, Greeley City Panhellenic and of the Alpha Chi Omega Alumnae Club.

Beverly is survived by her son, Delmar Carson (Jody) Brewer; step-grandsons, Chase (Lauren) Grabau and Riley Grabau and great-granddaughter Carter.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delmar Earl Brewer.

Visitation from 9:00 A.M to 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 7, 2018 at First Congregation Church of Greeley.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 7, 2018 at First Congregational Church.

Interment at 1:00 P.M. at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
