Betty grew up in Warsaw, Indiana. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1946 and then attended beauty school, graduating in 1947. After moving to Colorado, Betty worked at CSU-Cambridge House as the Head housekeeper.
She married Dean Parker on November 12, 1949 in Claypool. He died on August 12, 2009.
Betty was a member of United Methodist churches and attended a Baptist Church in Broaddus, Texas. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club while in Texas. Betty loved camping and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed mushroom hunting in Michigan during May. After marriage, Betty and Dean lived in Silver Lake, Indiana, later moving to Warsaw. The family moved to Fort Collins in 1964. In 1974, they returned to Indiana. After retirement in 1998 as head cook at Warsaw Middle School, they moved to Broaddus, Texas. After the death of her husband, Betty lived in Florida and then moved to the Greeley area and has been here since.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandy Crowe (John) of Eaton; son, Jeffry L. Parker (Barbera) of Apple Valley, California; sister, Barbara Parker of Warsaw; eight grandchildren, Ron, Cody, Dan, Melissa, Christina, Jenna, John and DeAnn; eight great-grandchildren and her very dear friends, whom were called the Fabulous Five from 6th grade until the present, Everlyn, Jody, Ann and Mary.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home.
