She was married to Carol Wolfe for 67 happy years. They were recognized everywhere by Carol’s cowboy hat and boots, and her hand in his. She was always fun-loving and a little playful -- She didn’t tell Carol the reason she wanted to get married in Taos, N.M. was because she was only 17 and that didn’t require a parent’s permission.
Barbara worked at Hewlett Packard as a supervisor for 16 years. She was a devoted home maker for her husband and three children and she never met a stranger, so her home was filled with laughter and songs and friends. She enjoyed travelling down little dirt roads with Carol throughout the Southwest, driving every one of Colorado’s mountain passes, singing ‘round the campfire, making silver jewelry, and playing cards.
She will be remembered for her lively spirit, sharp mind, kindness and loyalty to family – and for the ever present sparkle in her eye and for calling everyone “Honey.”
She leaves behind a brother Roy (Dorothy) Morgan of Franktown, CO, children Barbara (Bob) Brooks of Phoenix, AZ, Carolyn (Lance) Shotwell of Puyallup, WA, and Steve (Lorrie) Wolfe of Windsor, CO, plus 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and a niece Debi (Cliff) Manning and nephew Roger (Leslie) Morgan.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Dec. 5, at 2 pm at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, 650 W. Drake, Fort Collins. Send online condolences to www.Allnutt.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Larimer County, care of Allnutt.
