Barbara Jennings Murphy

Barbara was raised in Tampa, Florida and grew up in the First Baptist Church singing in the choir. She graduated from Middleton High School where she met her husband, Haspard. They got married in 1962. She attended Gibbs Jr. College and won Miss Gibbs Jr. College. Barbara was an army wife and supported the military communities for over 28 years. She lead and organized many groups including The Family Community Group as well as Bible study groups. Barbara organized and oversaw 15 moves often times while her husband was deployed and serving overseas, including three tours in Vietnam. She went on to college and completed a Bachelor of Art and English Honors in 1983.

She was the stability and the role model for both her own family and other military families.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Thomas) Anderson, and Terryne F. Murphy; Sons, Keith D. Murphy, and Haspard R. Murphy Jr.; Sister, Gloria Ann Blount; three grandchildren, Brandon J. Murphy, Haspard Luke Murphy, and Robin Jan Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Haspard R. Murphy, Sr. and siblings, Albert Jennings Sr., Willie Jennings Jr., Grace Jennings, Robert Jennings Sr., Samuel Jennings Sr., James Jennings Sr., Mary Jennings, Dorothy Bostic, Melvin Jennings, Edward Jennings Sr., Raymond Jennings, and Clarence Jennings.
