Arturo came to New Mexico in 1971. From there, he moved his family to Galeton, Colorado and he started working in farming agriculture. Later on, he settled down in Greeley, Colorado where he raised his family.
He loved to farm, go camping and spending time at the lake. He also loved to swim, cook and spend time with his family and friends. Arturo enjoyed traveling and spent many years going back and forth to Mexico. He had many passions and hobbies and loved working on cars. He did shoe shining for a couple of years, which many people knew him for. Arturo was a member of the BOCES committee and worked as a farmer with Chuck Carlson for many years.
Arturo is survived by his wife, Maria Lourdes Alfaro de Flores, who he married on December 7, 1976 in Greeley, Colorado; daughters, Elsa (Meliton) Quinones, Claudia (Marcelo Anzurez) Flores, Angelica Arguijo, and Carmen Salazar; sons, Ramon (Dorothy) Flores, Eric Flores, and Jorge Flores. He is also survived by his 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Juanita Meza, brother-in-law, Salvador Alfaro, sister-in-law, Angela Alfaro, and brothers, Manuel Rivas and Enrique Alfaro.
A visitation for Arturo will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A recitation of the rosary will occur Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 3205 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A liturgy of the word will occur Monday, January 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 3502 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. An interment will occur Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
