Mrs. Paxton grew up in Severance, where her father owned and operated a general store. She married Jim Paxton in Littleton on November 10, 1945. She and her husband farmed and fed cattle on various farms from Nunn to Platteville. After the death of her two girls, Mrs. Paxton worked at many places in Greeley, including Cook’s Drug Store, Denver Dry Goods, Hested’s Department Store, State Bank of Greeley and Cache National Bank. She then worked and retired from Monfort of Colorado as an accountant in Accounts Receivable.
Mrs. Paxton was a member of Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends and attending plays, concerts and shows at Union Colony Civic Center. She and Jim also loved going to midget car races. She had lived at the Greeley Place for the past five years.
Mrs. Paxton is survived by her brothers, Ben Oblander of Denver and George (Sara) Oblander of Loveland; sister-in-law, Dorothy Paxton of Eaton and very dear friends, Joann and Steve Cecil of Fort Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, daughters, Marilyn and Janet, her parents, her brother, Emanuel Oblander and sister-in-law, Martha Oblander.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
