Nanping Zhai

Nanping Zhai, born on May 23, 1969, in Anhui, China, passed away on April 17, 2024, in Queens, New York. She was the beloved wife of Dong Su, the beloved daughter of Tingying Wang and Jingyun Zhai, and the loving mother of her daughters, Yvonne and Elaine. Nanping’s life was marked by generosity, and she was cherished by everyone around her. She left this world surrounded by the love and blessings of her family.

Nanping was a remarkable mechanical engineer whose expertise and dedication greatly contributed to her field. At home, she was the heart and soul of her family, raising two intelligent and delightful daughters. Her dexterity extended beyond her professional work as she mastered everything from automotive repairs to knitting and gardening. Nanping had a special touch with orchids, especially the beautiful butterfly orchids she grew, and was always eager to lend a hand fixing anything for her neighbors and friends.

An animal lover at heart, Nanping rescued many small animals throughout her life, nurturing them back to health with great care and compassion. Her kind and nurturing spirit impacted not only her family and friends but also the many small creatures she saved.

Nanping Zhai's spirit of love, generosity, and selflessness will be deeply missed, and her legacy will continue to inspire and influence everyone. Her family and friends are forever indebted to her kindness and will continue to honor her spirit with their actions inspired by her values. Her memory will remain a guiding light to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
