Wilburn John Muncy, went home to Jesus on September 25, 2022, at age 76. John was born on May 14th, 1946 in Ft. Worth, TX.
As a child, John attended BISD from 1st-12th grade. At age 12, John dedicated his summers to working for his father, Bailey, at Muncy Heating & Air Conditioning.
John graduated from Haltom High School in 1964 and attended Cisco Junior College for 2 years. After his time at Cisco College, John returned to Ft. Worth to continue working at his father’s business. John grew to flourish in the HVAC construction industry and partnered with his brother Bob and bought Muncy Heating & Air Conditioning in 1968. John and Bob continued to hold an extensive client list until they sold the company in 2013.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father and step-father, John loved to garden and watch things grow, especially his tomatoes; he loved to play games such as Mexican Train and 5 Crown; he loved to be with and feed his family, he was known for his famous “Poppy Burgers” and “Poppy Stew.” He loved life, family, and friends and most of all held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
John joins his son Marlon, father Bailey, and mother Genevieve in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Suzy Muncy; his daughter, Marla Muncy; his stepdaughter, Tamara Drummond and her husband Joel Drummond, with their children: Zane and wife Elle Drummond, with their child Lillian Grace Drummond, Brock Drummond, Jenna Drummond, and Tara Drummond; his stepdaughter Tonia Paschall and her husband Clint Paschall with their children: Annah Jane and husband Bryan Brown, Cade Paschall, Corrie Paschall, and Jack Paschall; and his brother Bob and wife Jane Muncy with their children: Gray and Amy Muncy.
John will be missed dearly but the legacy he left behind will be honored every day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please make a charitable contribution to Tarrant Area Food Bank, Salvation Army, Bear Creek Bible Church, or any charitable organization of choice.
A visitation for John will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S MAIN ST, GRAPEVINE, TX 76051.
Celebration of Life: 11:30am Thursday at Bear Creek Bible Church, 1555 N. Tarrant Pkwy, Keller
