Her memory lives on in her son Arturo A. Velez Jr and his wife Kimberly Velez, daughter Marsia Rosela Velez-Henninger and her husband Jason Henninger; grandchildren Alexander Arturo Velez and his wife Rachel Velez, Elise Van Wormer, Aidan Van Wormer, and Colin Van Wormer; siblings Estella Peralta and Rafael Arvizu; nieces Lucinda Brunenkant, Belynda Talbert, Heidi Wolcott, and Miria Henderson; nephews Tony Peralta Jr, Andres Peralta, Miguel Peralta, and Achim Biller.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Rafael Arvizu and Evangelina Arvizu-Escandon, and her sister Lucinda Biller.
Rosela graduated from Pueblo High School and went on to attend the University of Arizona where she received a Master’s degree in Education. With her degree, she became a beloved counselor at Pueblo High School, Rincon High School, and Tucson High School. She retired from the Tucson Unified School District.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She was the life of the party and the best dressed everywhere she went. She loved the Lord and every traditional hymn she was raised with. She passed the love of the Lord and those same hymns to her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service for Rosela will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S MAIN ST, GRAPEVINE, TX 76051.
