Born in 1939, Bobby, grew up in Birkenhead, England, in a working class family that included brothers Kevin and John, and sister Carol. He was the oldest child of Dorothy and Walter Roberts.
In 1959 he and Sylvia Charles married. They welcomed children Stephen and Paul while residents of the UK; and in 1966, the young family emigrated to Fort Worth, Texas to begin a new life.
Their daughter Lisa Michelle was born in 1970 and the Roberts family became residents of the Mid-Cities, where Bob happily resided until his passing.
He enjoyed an accomplished career in Retail Sales, retiring in 2004 after 33 years at Sears, many of those years as the store’s top Salesman, also winning numerous state and national accolades.
He enjoyed dining out, going to movies, and he and Sylvia traveled extensively. He adored his six precious grandchildren: Nicole, Audrey, Sean, Jake, Brooke and Silvana.
His darling Betsy was a surprising and soul-enriching gift from the gods to Bob. The happy experiences they shared and priceless memories they built uplifted them both, as well as the entire Roberts family.
Bob was charming, curious, funny, and had ‘never met a stranger’. He was an avid soccer fan, and life-long supporter of his beloved Liverpool FC, sharing many hours recently with his Mid-Cities pub mates celebrating LFC and their shared interests.
A loyal husband, loving father, doting grandfather, faithful friend, and fun boyfriend—Bob was a vibrant, intelligent, joyous, and engaging person. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
