Larry Davis, (81), of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2023. Larry was born to Earl and Odessa Davis, on January 21, 1942, in Hereford, Texas. He was a Christian and a devoted family man who was known as Larry the barber to thousands of loyal customers during his 60 year career.
Larry is survived by his wife Gloria and two children, Melanie Minissale and her husband Joe, as well as Kim Harper and her husband Eric. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Lauren Wyder and her husband Matthew Wyder, Matt Minissale, Ben Minissale, and Lake Harper. Larry was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Odessa, and his siblings Ben Davis and Patsy Bruner, and his son Larry Don Davis.
Larry married Gloria on June 19, 1960 in Madill, Oklahoma. His loving marriage of 62 years was a great example to all those who knew him. Larry and Gloria owned Main Street Barber Shop in Grapevine, Texas up until his retirement in 2020. He was known for his love of Colorado and the mountains there. He was a member of First Baptist Grapevine where he enjoyed going to church. He enjoyed going to listen to live music and spending time with his family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed watching the games every weekend in the fall. He shared his warm heart not only with people but with his beloved dogs.
Larry’s family will host a celebration service on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. The service will be at J. E. Foust and Son in Grapevine, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
