Hi Larry,
It's over three years now since I lost you.  And still....  Yes, still..
I miss you -- I always will.  I love you -- not just because you are my son but because you earned a place in my heart no other can occupy.  Your loss is no easier to bear -- it's just that happiness creeps in more frequently and sadness is more sneaky now.

You would be so proud of Brody and Priscilla!  They have grown like weeds!  Brody has trouble navigating the world without you to guide him - you were his North Star.  You still are in a lot of ways.  Priscilla has already earned a scholarship to college if she keeps up her grades and wants it.  Quite an accomplishment for a fifth grader!  I am proud of her and know you would be also.  I encourage them as much as I can.  Brody speaks of you.

The story of us will always be a special place in my heart.  We had so many plans to travel. I miss you as if it were yesterday.  
Our first Mardi Gras and our first parade kiss.  I will forever love you and miss you. 

Back when I lived in DFW, I played a sci-fi role-playing game with Larry, Pat and John.  We were mercenaries with a small trading spaceship and Larry was our pilot.

One day we came into orbit around a small moon, which had been the site of a former mining colony.  a faint mayday beacon came over the ship's radio, so we decided to check it out.  We circled the moon, and saw only a dozen or so buildings in a circle.  We decided to land the spaceship and see what was going on.

As we began to land, John (our referee) described the scene.  "You see a large clearing in the middle of the buildings with enough area to land your ship.  The buildings themselves are all weather worn domes, with airlocks pointing north.  In the distance, the sun's red rays paint the sky as it sets on the horizon."

Larry interrupted, "Nope, nope, nope!  I pull up and back into orbit immediately.  I've seen this movie before, man.  Lonely buildings, mountains in the distance, sun setting...this is a horror movie waiting to happen!"

We all laughed, then suddenly realized he was right!  We sent a small radio down to the ground where it was attacked as space monsters poured from all the small buildings!  We were able to shoot them from our ship and destroy the nest without incident, thanks to Larry's love of horror films!

Larry and I first became friends back in 1995, I believe.  I was introduced to him by my wife, Pat, who had known him even longer.  He impressed me as a decent fellow, with an excellent sense of humor.  Our circles of friends overlapped a bit, and we ran into each other a lot.  Larry proved to be not just a good friend, but also a good man.  His sense of integrity, and compassion were very strong.  If there were two words that I could use to describe him, they would be "love", and "sacrifice".  These were two things that marked his life all the way through.  As a medical assistant, he worked at nursing homes, taking care of the elderly, who could no longer care for themselves.  When he joined the National Guard, he did so as a medic, dedicated to saving lives.  He was a devoted and loving family man.  In his last job, as a nurse, he cared for people who were terminally ill.  it was hard, and it was hard on him.  One of his last charges was a pre-teen boy, dying of cancer.  Larry took care of him all the way to the end.  It affected him deeply, but he did not stop.  While talking to him while he was in the hospital, I mentioned an incident where I had been told that I had a high tolerance to pain.  He answered by saying he didn't.  I guess that means that he is a much stronger person than I am, because the pain he had to deal with in his last job was beyond belief.  The night he passed away, I was at work, and only arrived at the hospital after he was gone.  But I took his hand and I told him:  "You will be sorely missed, but I look forward to seeing you again in the the next life."  Auf weider sehen, my Friend, Larry.  This is not good-bye. 

Larry I miss you as if it were yesterday. I think about you every day and listen to your voicemail. Yesterday, your mom went with us to Scarborough Faire and I know how you loved that place. We wish you would have been with us but I still feel you sometimes. We didn’t go to knife throwing this time. We miss you and the girls still talk about you. 

I miss you and will always love you. 

Another month has passed by, it has been 7 since we saw you. I miss you with all of my heart as if it were the first day I lost you. 
I miss your kisses and hugs.

Larry, for the past decade you were always my "go to" guy to help me understand my dad's medical problems and tell me what to do.  It's happening again and you're not here to help me be strong and get through it anymore.  I miss you old friend.

Even though it's been a few months sence he died I still miss him very much. I don't know to do now that I am in high school and I don't get to see him?

I loved him with all my heart and he loved me with all his heart I can still tell him I love him but it won't be the same.

The story of us: 
Larry always woke me up with a "Good Morning beautiful" I would open my eyes and he would smile and say those three words to me everyday. I miss those words so much that I am having a hard time living without him. If I had a bad day he would always bring me chocolate. He would drive across town to bring me lunch if I forgot it at home. He would always call me at a certain time multiple times a day just to tell me he loves me or ask if I needed anything. He would turn over at night because I would have a nightmare and wake up crying. He would take my girls to get donuts and never tell me but it was their bonding time. He would kiss me and hold me during a movie. He would always open the car door to allow me to get in the car. I miss him with everything I am because he gave me my smile back and showed me love exist. 
This is something I can't just get over and move on. I am exhausted from being happy for two days. Today, I am having a rough day. The stories would help get me through the day.

Larry was my fiancé and my partner for a short year. I love love him with all of my heart. We traveled as much as we could and like we had an agenda. Larry gave the best year of my life. I will always be connected to him and I miss more and more every day. 
He treated me like a queen and he was king. My girls he loved them just as if they were his own. We have so many things still to do and see. I feel him close everyday but wish I could just talk to him. I love him and will always love him. The story of us may have been completed on earth but he will forever be apart of me.

Larry, I didn't know you very well and that is my loss to be sure. We shared some good times and I wish I had thanked you for being around on a very important date in my journey. In fact - you were essential in making that day happen for me and changing my fate. I will never forget that. God Bless
