Norbye Juanice (Thomas) Blauser, age 86, of Grapevine, Texas went to her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 15, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend who was the consummate hostess and the bond that held our large extended family together. Always put together with a smile on her face, she never met a stranger. Over the last 12 years she took the long journey through Alzheimer's / Dementia and when it was time the Lord took her home. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
Juanice was born September 24, 1935 in the East Texas town of Atlanta. She grew up just outside Atlanta and graduated from Atlanta High School in 1954. She attended Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas where she majored in Home Economics. She moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked at Humble Oil in Irving, Texas and met her future husband Carl Blauser. They married in April 1961 and settled in Hurst, Texas. During this time their first three children, Doug, Jacque and Brad were born before they moved to Tyler, Texas in 1966 for a year then Brownsville, Texas the following year then moving back to Hurst the summer of 1968. In 1969, their youngest child Pat was born. During their children’s school years, Juanice was a homemaker as well as a room mother, team mom, scout mom and bookkeeper for Carl's Enco Service Station in Euless. She returned to the workforce when her children were all in full-time school and worked as a teachers aid at Central Junior High in Bedford, and a Real Estate Agent for Century 21. In the early 1980s, Juanice went back to work for Exxon (formally Humble Oil). In 1986, Juanice and Carl moved to Spring, Texas where she continued to work for Exxon until she retired in 1997. After retirement, Juanice and Carl moved to Burleson, Texas to be closer to family where they lived until Carl’s passing in 2012. Juanice then moved to North Richland Hills, Texas and then to Grapevine, Texas where she lived with her son Brad until her final months.
Through the years, Juanice attended and volunteered in her local church to include First Baptist Atlanta, First Baptist Church of Hurst, Champion Forest Baptist Church in Spring, Cana Baptist Church in Burleson, and finally back to her long time church home at First Baptist Hurst. She loved her family, loved her church and loved her Lord throughout her life. She will long be remembered for her love and kindness.
Juanice was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Melva Grisham and Valera Anderson, her brother Almand Thomas and her husband Carl Blauser.
Juanice is survived by a brother, Paul Thomas of Hot Springs, Arkansas, four children, Doug of Arlington, Jacque of Keller, Brad of Grapevine, Pat (wife Trista) of North Richland Hills, and seven grandchildren.
A visitation for Juanice will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S Main St, Grapevine, TX 76051. A funeral service will occur Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home at the address above. Burial will follow the service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd (Texas Hwy 26), Colleyville, TX 76034.
