Ms. Dorothy Lynn Crawford Kearney

Lynn is survived by her sister, Ann Dudley and her husband Michael, a niece Erin Dudley, nephew Recil Dudley and his wife Krista, 3 great-nephews, many cousins and several special and loving friends.

After living in Oklahoma City for several years the family moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where Lynn attended Central Junior High and graduated from Lawton Senior High. She got an AA degree from Cameron College and a BS from Central State College (now University of Central Oklahoma).

After college Lynn joined IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY where she met and married Peter Kearney. They were later divorced with no children from the marriage. Lynn continued to work for IBM in New York at various jobs until 1982 when she moved to Grapevine, TX. Lynn worked is several locations in the DFW area until retirement in 2004 spanning a career of over 37 years.

After retirement, Lynn looked for opportunities to give back to the community and joined Grapevine Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (GCPAAA) and the Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) for Grapevine Police Department working several years primarily in the Records department.

Lynn was also a member of several fraternal and social organizations. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years belonging to both Lawton, OK and Grapevine, TX. In the Grapevine Chapter she served several times as Worth Matron and many years as secretary. Lynn was also an active member of the Order of the Amaranth. She was a Royal Matron in Bluebonnet Court in Texas and served as being secretary for many years. Lynn was active in the Oklahoma Grand Court where she served in several offices including Grand Royal Matron in 2015. Lynn was a member of Rithmah Temple Daughters of the Nile and was active for many years in the pageantry unit.

Lynn will be buried next to her parents in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma. Due to the current health situation the family will have a memorial service at a later date. If you would like, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Lynn’s name.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, October 31, 2020 at Foust and Son Funeral Home.
