He had endured a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. Even though David was taken so soon, he lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored him. Born in Decatur, Texas, on December 14, 1953, to Jimmy and Marian Watson. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Arlington, Texas. David was in the first graduating class of Lamar High School in Arlington, class of 1972. From there, David studied accounting at the University of Texas, graduating in 1976 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He later received his CPA license and spent his professional career working as a Chief Financial Officer/Controller of various companies, mostly in the aviation services industry.
David enjoyed all sports related to Texas and was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed golf with a deep passion and loved playing with his close friends and family. A fierce competitor on the course, a day of golf with David was sure to bring lots of laughs. He also enjoyed his music, traveling, and quality time with his family and friends. He had a great smile and sharp wit and was a thoughtful, generous, kind, and even-tempered soul who never had a bad word for anyone – he was a blessing to so many.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Jimmy Watson; Mother, Marian (Hill) Watson; Sister, Bonny Sue (Watson) Williams.
He is survived by his wife Katrina Watson, sons Jimmy (Lisa) and Andrew (Tiffany) Watson, five grandchildren, and many close relatives and some very special friends.
