David Woodrow Chambers, 80, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on September 14, 2024. Born on March 12, 1944, to Gordon and Edith Chambers, David grew up in Grand Prairie, excelling in sports and earning an all-state track title in high school.
He attended Texas Christian University and later the University of Texas at Arlington on a track scholarship. David spent his career at Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV), a major American conglomerate known for its work in aerospace and other industries, working in quality control.
David's favorite pastimes included golfing, fishing, sports memorabilia collecting, and family tree research. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished his roles as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin.
He is survived by his children, Darrick (Kristin) Chambers and Denia Chambers; grandson, Kaleb Jordan (Brittany); brother, Jim Chambers (Nancy); niece, Kim George; aunt, Gerry Carothers; and cousins Eugene Chambers (Carol) and Brent Bove.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors in Grapevine, Texas. A celebration of life will follow on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
David will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and his passion for life.
